Suicides No. 2 cause of death in military

I think that's part of the reason that makes the problem so baffling. However, the vast majority of the troops, who served in 2004-2005 are no longer on active duty, so it's a separate, but equally troubling problem since I recently read veteran suicides are on the rise, although the brief article I read made no distinction in age.

I suspect there are numerous reasons for the increase in suicides among active duty personnel, which is one reason why it makes it so difficult to predict who is at risk. Marital problems, girlfriend problems, fiancial difficulties, etc. are all reasons, but how is it explained that many more individuals suffer the same issues and go on with their lives?
